Many ways to reconnect
Hey there,
Whether you’re slowly re-emerging from a pandemic pace, or you’re raring to see familiar faces, take a look at opportunities to connect in the days ahead this week and month, with our regular chat groups. Plus, The Center Social returns next week at the Saguaro! Scroll down for more details.

Last week, we asked if you knew volunteers of The Center in all its forms. Thanks for those who participated. We got feedback from some folks about that question being unclear, so we decided to share a little history about The Center. We were founded back in 2001 as the Prime Timer of the Desert Foundation. In 2008, we became known as the Golden Rainbow Senior Center, and in 2012, we became The LGBT Community Center of the Desert (the Q was added just last year).
Did you know some of this history?
If you have any stories you'd like to share with about your time volunteering during the past 20 years please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The National LGBTQ+ Women*s Survey
This study invites people who have identified as women at any point on their journeys and want to share
their experiences of centering women in their emotional, familial, sexual, and/or personal lives. At present this study is only open to participants currently living in the USA.

The National LGBTQ+ Women*s Community Survey welcome lesbian, bi, pansexual, trans, asexual, intersex, and queer women who partner with women; trans men who want to report on their experience of partnering with women when they identified as or were perceived to be girls or women; and non-binary people who partner with or have partnered with women.

Your responses will be an important contribution to a ground-breaking community report on LGBTQ+ women’s experiences of pursuing housing, employment, health care, public accommodation, and education while building their families and lives. The study is an investigation of discrimination in the lives of LGBTQ+ women and our sources of joy and resilience.
